No, and that's deliberate. Names, organizations and contact details are detected automatically; technical passages are the ones you select. Nothing is exported without your approval.

Yes, for preparing the copies: processing happens on your computer, and no third party receives your documents. What you then give to an AI, and to which one, remains your decision: only the reviewed and approved copy is meant for that. For the invention itself, prudence means showing the AI only what is necessary.

Its good-practice guide (July 2026) recommends “not using confidential information in prompts because of the risk of disclosure, particularly in a consumer generative AI tool”, and suggests “replacing proper names with pseudonyms and industrial property title numbers with codes” (our translation). It also advises informing the client about the use of AI and obtaining their consent.

The texts don't say. Neither article L. 611-11 of the French IP Code nor article 54 of the EPC mention AI: they cover what was made available to the public before filing, by any means. When in doubt, prudence dictates not giving an online AI the description or draft claims before filing. AnonymFiles' labels hide who is filing, not what is invented. Not freely. Inventions covered by a French patent application may not be freely disclosed and exploited without authorization, granted automatically five months after filing unless extended (IP Code, art. L. 612-9 and L. 612-10). The CNCPI guide notes that sending it abroad before then may breach national defence rules. The application is in principle only published at eighteen months (art. L. 612-21; EPC, art. 93), and the file remains covered by secrecy. Show only what is necessary.

Yes, if it has to compare them: it's the parties that should be masked. Owners, managers and representatives are detected as organizations or people, with their addresses and e-mails. A sign may however be masked if detection takes it for a company name, for instance when it repeats the owner's name, and an automatic detection cannot yet be removed individually. So check, during side-by-side review, that the signs to compare remain readable.

They are not analyzed. The copy of a Word file keeps none of them: starting from the description in Word is safest. In a text PDF, a figure that doesn't touch any masked passage stays in the copy: check it in the exported PDF. A page with almost no text, such as a sheet of drawings, causes the whole PDF to be excluded, as a precaution, since it could be an unredacted scan: it is flagged in the export index, never copied in clear.
