Is it really free?
Yes. The Free version handles one file at a time, with no time limit. Pro costs $149 per year per seat, with a full 14-day trial and no card. See pricing.
Can redacted data be recovered?
No. Content under a redaction is removed from the exported file, hidden layers are cleaned, and the output is re-read before it is handed over.
Are my documents sent anywhere?
No. The app has no processing server and works offline. Only the update check, which you can turn off, uses the network.
What is the difference between redacting and anonymizing?
Redacting permanently removes an area. Anonymizing replaces data with stable labels ("Person 1") so the document stays readable. AnonymFiles does both.
Does it work on a scanned PDF or a photo?
Yes, OCR runs on your computer. ID photos, signatures and stamps are handled as images.
