What your profession requires
Employee data doesn't stop at ChatGPT's door.
Pasting a review report or a payroll export into an online AI means handing your employees' data to a third party. AnonymFiles replaces identities first, on your computer.
Recruitment
In France, information requested from a job applicant may only serve to assess their ability to hold the job or their professional skills (Labour Code, art. L. 1221-6).
Data minimization
Process only the data needed for the purpose (GDPR, art. 5.1.c): an AI summarizing a review needs neither the name nor the social security number.
Sensitive data
Health, trade union membership, origin: special categories whose processing is prohibited except in specific cases (GDPR, art. 9). They are masked during review.

Original and copy side by side. One click masks a missed name, an amount or a passage. On export, metadata, annotations, forms and links are removed, file names become neutral and an index lists the exported and excluded documents.

Text or scanned PDF, 50 MB maximum per file (10 MB for text and spreadsheets); a scan is read by local OCR. The copy of a Word file is a .docx that keeps its layout, with a text file for the AI; the copy of a spreadsheet is a redacted workbook (.xlsx or .csv, values without formulas), with a text copy; the copy of a presentation or an e-mail is a text file.

What software can anonymize HR files?
AnonymFiles, a local anonymizer installed on the HR team's computer. It stands out on three points: it processes the whole case file with the same labels across every document, it redacts Word and PDF files inside the document itself, layout preserved, and it puts the real names back into the AI's answer. Are payroll export columns masked?
Yes: in a spreadsheet, columns headed Nom, Prénom, Salarié, Matricule or N° de sécurité sociale are masked in full, and IBANs are detected by rule. The copy is a redacted workbook in its own format, with number formats, plus a text copy for the AI.
What about health or trade union mentions?
They are not masked automatically: select them in the original during review. The re-identification risk indicator flags them (sick leave, disability status…), along with initials and employee IDs left visible.
Can I anonymize CVs for blind recruitment?
Yes for the copy: the name, contact details and date of birth become labels. Check what can still identify a candidate (a photo, a very rare school, a club).
Can an anonymized copy still identify someone?
Yes, if an indirect detail remains visible: a unique job title, a start date, a work site, a health mention. That's why each document is reviewed side by side before export, and one click masks whatever detection missed.
