Hexagone AI presents itself as “100% local data anonymization software” (our translation) for legal and accounting professions. According to its website, checked on October 14, 2026:

• Platforms: macOS on Apple silicon and Windows 10/11 64-bit, 8 GB of memory minimum; a web app and a REST API hosted in Europe exist alongside.
• Formats: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX and TXT, “rebuilt with their original layout”, with local OCR for scanned PDFs.
• The protected twin: a mirror copy of a watched folder, where each identifier is replaced by a marker, kept in sync with every change.
• The widget: an overlay on top of Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor that spots a sensitive value as you type and shows the real value again in the answer.
• Audit trail: every detection and substitution is logged locally, exportable as CSV.
• Published measurements: 96.95% of entities detected and masked on 5,000 samples of the public ai4privacy/pii-masking-200k dataset, according to the publisher, and four languages (French, English, German, Italian) measured above 91%.
• Enterprise: on-premises or air-gapped deployment, SSO, command-line interface.

On networking, the publisher is transparent: the models (about 1 GB) download on first launch, the app checks for updates on its servers and, according to its privacy policy, periodically sends “heartbeats” that check the license status and measure aggregate usage, with anonymous counters passed to PostHog, its subcontractor. No document content is sent. The license attaches to the device after payment.

It is the closest competitor to AnonymFiles, with real strengths: measurements published on a public dataset, an exportable audit trail and testimonials from firms.

VAT from three seats, a quote above twenty, and a 14-day trial.
